A Jewish film festival due to be held at the Tricycle Theatre will be re-located to venues across north London after festival organisers fell out with the theatre over the conflict in Gaza.
The 26 films due to be screened at the playhouse, in Kilburn High Road, as part of the UK Jewish Film Festival (UKJFF) will now be spread across 13 London venues and a further six venues elsewhere in the UK.
New venues for the 2014 festival include the London Jewish Cultural Centre (LJCC), in Golders Green, the ArtHouse cinema, in Crouch End, the Odeon cinema, in Muswell Hill, and the Everyman cinema in Maida Vale.
Established UKJFF venues set to host some of the cancelled Tricycle screenings include the Everyman cinema, in Hampstead, JW3 community centre, in Finchley Road, the Odeon cinema, in Swiss Cottage, and the Phoenix Cinema, in East Finchley.
Last month, the Tricycle controversially refused to host the UKJFF unless it relinquished its funding from the Israeli embassy, which festival organisers refused to do.
Tricycle bosses subsequently backed down in light of heated protests against their stand by which time the decision had already been made to move the film screenings elsewhere.
