More information has been released about plans for a new housing block in Wembley which was approved by Brent Council last month.

Amex House, consisting of 195 new homes, will be built on a 1.6 acre brownfield site in North End Road, as part of a £50million ‘Wembley Parade’ development.

Neil Sams, development director at Anthology, the company managing the, said: “Over the past few months we have worked closely with local residents and the council to ensure that our plans will enhance the neighbourhood and deliver a positive effect to the regeneration of the area. “Not only will we be providing much needed homes, the construction will create jobs and provide a boost to the local economy.”

Amex House will include 44 shared-ownership or affordable homes equating to 23 per cent of the housing in the block.

However this is below the 50pc target Brent Council desires for new housing developments in the borough.

Last month the council gave the green light for hundreds of new homes in Wembley.

Besides Amex House there will be 340 homes in Arena Square next to Wembley Stadium and 250 homes in Cottrell House.

A brownfield site is unused land which can be used for development once it has been checked for any contamination and cleaned up.
