Theo James has responded to rumours that the Duchess of Sussex could join the cast of Netflix’s The Gentlemen.
Speculation has circulated about Meghan Markle’s potential return to acting in a possible third season of the Guy Ritchie-created series.
Mr James, who stars in the show, addressed the claims in a recent interview following the recent release of the show's second season.

He told the Press Association: "Those kind of big, spurious rumours, I mean I had heard one that Harry was going to join."
His co-star Kaya Scodelario asked: "Harry Styles?"
Mr James replied: "No, the prince."
Ms Scodelario added: "We should just start making ones up. Shows how little I know; I thought he was telling the truth."
Reports have suggested that the Duchess of Sussex was in talks for a role should the series be renewed, though Netflix has not yet confirmed a third season.
Before her marriage, Meghan was best known for her role as Rachel Zane in the US legal drama Suits.
She recently made a brief return to acting with a cameo as herself in the comedy Close Personal Friends, alongside Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, returned to the UK last week after six years in the US.
They are expected to remain in the UK for an "extended period," though details about their stay remain unclear.
Mr James also discussed the direction of The Gentlemen’s current second season, now streaming on Netflix.
He said: "The reason for doing more, the only way to do more, was to go deeper and darker, and more complex, because otherwise, it’s a kind of repeat."
The series centres on Duke Eddie Horniman, played by Mr James, who inherits his late father’s country estate—only to discover it sits atop an underground cannabis empire.
A talent manager has suggested there would be industry interest in Meghan should she choose to return to acting full-time.
Professor Jonathan Shalit, chairman of InterTalent Rights Group, said: "If Meghan decided tomorrow that she seriously wanted to act again, directors and producers would absolutely want to meet her and audition her.
"Would she automatically be handed every role she wanted? Of course not.
"But would doors open? Absolutely."
