A mobile phone company has been forced to issue an apology to Brent Council after it flyposted adverts across Cricklewood.
Lebara has also pledged not to flypost the area again after it was issued with a Community Protection Notice (CPN) by the town hall after it was identified as one of the offenders targeting the area.
Under the terms of the CPN the council would have the power to prosecute Lebara if it continued offending and it could be fined up to £20,000.
Cllr James Denselow, Brent Council’s cabinet member for stronger communities, said: “Flyposting is a menace, making a mess of neighbourhoods, and it has to stop. “We’re glad to have encouraged one big business to recognise its responsibilities, issue an apology, and promise to stop.
“Anyone flyposting who doesn’t follow this company’s great example had better be ready to face the consequences.”
