In July 2016 we published articles concerning Wilberforce Primary School which made reference to Michael Larkin’s time as the interim head teacher of the school. The articles claimed that Mr Larkin had been sacked, that half the staff resigned while he was there and that claims of bullying were upheld by an independent investigation.

These allegations were untrue. In fact Mr Larkin was not sacked (indeed his leadership was described by Ofsted as “inspirational”), half of the school’s staff did not resign and further investigation of the bullying claims concluded that the evidence presented against Mr Larkin was biased.

We are happy to take this opportunity to set the record straight and we apologise sincerely to Michael Larkin for the distress and embarrassment caused to him by our articles.”
