The voices of the Met police are to ring out at a free fundraising concert taking place in Wembley.

The Metropolitan Police Choir (MPC) is joining the Memory Café Community Choir, based in Carlton Avenue West, to belt out ballads this Friday (October 6) at 7.30pm.

The Memory Cafe is run by volunteers who provide a weekly drop in for people with dementia and memory loss and their carers, offering advice, support and activities.

Richard Fox, musical director of the MPC, said:”This performance allows the MPC to raise money for the Memory Café charity to be able to continue their excellent work for the local community.

“The MPC is hoping after this performance that we will be able to help out again in the future and we are especially looking forward to hearing the Memory Café Choir sing.”

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Barham Library who received a community celebration grant from the National Lottery.

Paul Lorber, of FBL, said he had been “roped into singing despite being tone deaf”.

He added: “Reverend Steve Morris and the volunteers at the Memory Cafe do such fantastic work supporting their local community of all faiths and backgrounds that we at Friends of Barham Library could not resist in showing our admiration and get stuck in too.”

The audience are asked make a donation.
