A bench in memory of a cherished mother will be placed in the Remembrance Garden of St Augustine’s Church in Kilburn Park Road.
Frank Mbaakanyi, 35, bought the bench to mark the fifth anniversary of the death of his mother, Mable Bakulu Mbaakaanyi, who was a high ranking government official in Botswana.
“My mother passed away in September 2008,” explained Mr Mbaakanyi who lives in Notting Hill.
“This all stems from me. I never really did anything for my mum and she touched a lot of people.”
The bench has been blessed by Father Colin Amos.
Mr Mbaakanyi, who is a senior project manager for Vertex Systems Engineering, has already donated £500 to St Augustine’s Church from the Mable Bakulu Mbaakanyi Foundation.
Every September, Mr Mbaakanyi said he donates money to a good cause in memory of his mother.
