Not all humans like their new step siblings and that’s how it was for a cat that was sold online and is now looking for a new home with help from a Kensal Green charity.

One-year-old Noddy was bought from a website after the buyer recently lost one of their cats and decided to get another.

However, no checks were done on Noddy’s background, and within a week he was taken to the Mayhew in Trenmar Gardens as the previous owner didn’t accept returns.

Zoe Edwards, Mayhew’s head of animal welfare, said: “There are so many unwanted animals in rescue centres that have come from people who buy pets without checking their background first or taking into consideration the responsibilities and needs of the pet.”

Cat welfare officer Georgina Disney added: “Since being in our care, we have assessed that Noddy does not like other cats and therefore we do not recommend he lives in a household with another cat.”
