A man is fighting for his life after he was hit by a marked police car on its way to an emergency call in Wembley.
The 40-year-old pedestrian suffered a fractured skull and a broken leg after he was struck by the vehicle in Wembley Hill Road opposite Wembley Stadium station on Sunday morning around 1am.
Officers in the car, which had its siren and blue lights on, were on their way to an emergency domestic violence call.
The injured man was rushed to hospital where he is in a critical condition.
The incident has come to light today after the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), who are investigating the incident, appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
IPCC officers have obtained statements from the two officers in the car and will scrutinise data from the vehicle and CCTV recordings.
Anyone with any information should contact the IPCC on 0800 151 0019 or email witness@ipcc.gsi.gov.uk.
