A pedestrian has been injured after he was hit by a car which also smashed into two parked vehicles after veering out of control outside an iconic café in Stonebridge.

The 58-year-old man suffered a leg injury following the accident outside the Ace Café on the North Circular Road yesterday evening.

Paramedics and an air ambulance attended the scene where the man was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

His injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A second man, aged 32, also suffered minor injuries but he did not require hospital treatment.

According to a witness the older man’s injury was sustained after he was crushed by the vehicle during the crash at 8.46pm.

They said: “The poor man was crushed between the two cars.

I hope he’ll be ok.”

The world-famous eatery has been a popular meeting place for bikers and car enthusiasts since it originally opened in 1938.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics had attended the scene.

He added: “We treated two patients at the scene.

“We treated a man reported to be in his fifties for a leg injury who was taken to St Mary’s Hospital and another man for minor injuries who was not taken to hospital.”

A police spokesman told the Times the driver has been reported for possible traffic offences.
