A community walk was held to bring a “happy and positive” experience to people living in the borough.
People joined the Love Where You Live Walk from Sherrin’s Farm Open Space in St Michael’s Avenue, Wembley, to the Stonebridge Hub in Hillside on August 11.
Eve Jean-Marie, who organised the walk, said: “Like many in the community I’ve been moved, often to the point of tears, by the violent and senseless loss of young lives that seems to have plagued us in recent years. I was inspired to create an opportunity for us to come together under happier circumstances, to be among each other out of choice. The Love Where You Live Walk was born!”
The event was supported by the charity Phoenix Rising and the award-winning St Michael & All Angels Steel Orchestra. Food was provided by Destiny House International, a community church,
Cllr Ketan Sheth said: “What a fantastic initiative.”
