Queen’s Park has triumphed with a golden win in this year’s London in Bloom awards.

The Victorian park, managed by the City of London Corporation (CoLC), won gold in the ‘over 25 acres’ park category.

Staff work hard to maintain and promote the biodiversity of Queen’s Park.

The introduction of long grass and wild flower areas throughout its acres of land has created new habitats for several insects, leading to a boom in bird population.

Karina Dostalova, chairwoman of the CoLC’s Queen’s Park Committee, said: “These results are a testament to the exceptional work that our staff, volunteers and friends group achieve all year round to our much loved Victorian park.”

London in Bloom celebrates and recognises the passion people have for greening the capital city.

Entries are accepted every year from local authorities, parks, friends groups, community groups, and schools across London who want to improve their local environment
