The Conservative Party has held on to their seat in Kenton after winning yesterday’s by-election.
Michael David Maurice gained 1,097 votes, 258 more than his nearest rival Vincent Lo from the Labour Party.
The Green Party’s Michaele Lichten came third with 121 beating former Liberal Democrat councillor Bob Wharton who came last with 70 votes.
The by-election called following the sudden death of Cllr Bhiku Patel in January has been marred with claims of a smear campaign after Labour distributed defamatory leaflets about Cllr Maurice.
The later retracted the untrue claim about him and made a public apology.
