A pub in Kingsbury has been ordered to use bouncers on the door after drinkers took part in a mass brawl on the premises.

The Honeypot Public House in Honeypot Lane, must also introduce a string of new security measures following a review of its licence by the council last week.

Brent Police said they had been called to a number of violent incidents at the premises, including the fight in June, and during a spot check on the premises they discovered a number of breaches of its licensing conditions.

The pub must ensure two Security Industry Authority accredited door supervisors are on duty on Friday and Saturday nights and at least one is working throughout the week when the pub is open past midnight.

The new licensing conditions also call for a manager to be on site from 8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the pub stops serving alcohol.

In addition, all staff must undergo training in selling alcohol to customers.

PC Paul Whitcomb, Brent Licensing officer, said: “All licensed venues in Brent have a responsibility to prevent crime and disorder linked to their premises and we will not hesitate to take action against any venue that is not upholding the licensing objectives.”
