Brent is set to see its constituencies carved up as the Boundary Commission revealed its final proposals, but none of its Labour MPs would be in danger.

The borough will be split into five seats, in a major shake-up.

Dawn Butler’s Brent Central seat will be split. The southern section, including Willesden, Harlesden, Brondesbury Park and Stonebridge will become part of a new Willesden and Shepherd’s Bush seat. The rest of it, as well as part of Brent North, will become a new Wembley constituency.

Brent MP Barry Gardiner will have the remaining parts of his seat partitioned. The northern section will become part of a Harrow South and Kenton constituency, while Northwick Park and Sudbury wards will be taken in by Ealing North and Sudbury.

The recommendations need to be passed by Parliament although the DUP are thought to be unhappy with plans for Northern Ireland.
