The leader of Brent Council has been shortlisted for an award in recognition of his drive for digital innovation.

The leader of Brent Council has been shortlisted for an award in recognition of his drive for digital innovation.

Cllr Muhammed Butt has been nominated for the Local Government Information Unit Digital Innovator of the Year Award.

He has been praised for his efforts to transform the way the council operates, by incorporating social media into its communications, along with live-streaming of meetings at the town hall.

Cllr Butt said: “Brent Council has invested in high-quality digital services to deliver savings and provide easy access to important news, information and services for our residents.

“I am honoured to have been nominated for this digital innovation award.”

The winner will be announced on February 25.
