The students, from year 7 at Kingsbury High School in Princes Avenue, took part in a Reading for Enjoyment Day, designed to encourage and celebrate reading.

As well as dressing up as their favourite characters, students took part in a range of stimulating activities including; storytelling and role playing.

Greta Nuzi, 12 from Kingsbury and Aliyah Yousaf, 11, from Edgware, came as Thing 1 & Thing 2 from Dr Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat during the day.

Jasliene Sangha, deputy head of English and Media, said: “Both staff and students enjoyed wearing their imaginative and creative outfits to celebrate their favourite books and characters. We hope the day inspired and enthused students to read a wide range of literature in dramatic and exciting way!”
