The Ade Adepitan Short Breaks Centre in Kingsbury has once again been rated as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.

The centre, in Grove Park, opened in 2013 for children and young people aged five-18 with profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex health needs, physical disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders.

Pupils named the centre after the paralympic wheelchair basketball champion Ade Adepitan.

Education chiefs praised the outstanding quality of the centre’s consistent, highly personalised and individualised care.

A parent whose daughter attends the centre, said: “It’s amazing how happy and settled she is.”

Cllr Mili Patel, Brent Council’s lead member for children and young people, said: “Many congratulations to the centre for this fantastic result. We are committed to protecting services such as these to ensure that all young people in Brent are provided with the very best services.”
