The ticket hall inside Kilburn tube station is to close for good on July 12.

The station, which is served by the Jubilee Line, is the latest casualty of a London-wide operation by Transport for London that will see all ticket halls axed by the end of the year.

The controversial move will save TfL £50 million a year.

The closures at more than 250 stations will result in the loss of more than 900 jobs and has led to strikes by trade unions.

Pat Hansberry, London Underground’s Operations Director for the Jubilee line, said: “As part of our plans to modernise London Underground, from 12 July we will be carrying out improvement work at Kilburn Underground Station.

“As part of this work programme, Staff will move from back office areas to the ticket hall where they will be better placed and more available to help customers, and the ticket windows will close.”
