Anna Eriksson, Tara Stroud and Simona Boldis will eliminate all animal products from their diet next month

A trio of Kilburn women will be going on a vegan only diet for one month to raise awareness of animal suffering.

Anna Eriksson, Tara Stroud and Simona Boldis will all be eliminating meat, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy and honey from their diet from May 12.

The four week challenge, which runs from May 12 to June 9, is a London wide initiative organised by London Vegan Campaigns (LVC).

LVC was formed in 2005 to promote the vegan diet (veganism) in and around London and encourage people to become vegan. The group is run entirely by volunteers and receives no funding.

Vegans are like vegetarians in that they do not eat the flesh of animals or fish. However, they also avoid eating anything that is a product of an animals such as eggs, milk and honey.

The group claim that a global vegan diet would reduce dietary greenhouse gas emissions by 87 per cent, compared to a token 8 per cent for sustainable meat and dairy.
