Club has had to make way for regeneration project in South Kilburn

Members of Kilburn’s Royal British Legion have showed fighting spirit to secure a new home.

The club, which provides entertainment and support to serviceman, ex serviceman and their families, was threatened with closure after they were moved from their former home in Albert Road to make way for a regeneration project by Brent Council.

However, they, alongside the council, never gave up and emerged victorious after moving into their new home in Peel Precinct.

Tina Brown, the club’s secretary said an enjoyable time was had by all.

She said: “We want people to come and enjoy our new home and are always welcoming new members.

“It’s great that we have a new home but important to recognise the great work that the legion does.

We are just a little leaf on a big tree but we all try to do our bit for the community.”

The club, in Neville Close, Peel Precinct, Kilburn, is open now and offers activities including Bingo and live music sessions.
