An off-licence in Kilburn has lost its bid to sell alcohol around the clock amid fears it could fuel crime and disorder in the area.
Brent Council rejected the application for a 24-hour alcohol licence by Aryubi Express in Kilburn High Road, following concerns raised by the police.
Officers said the shop would attract people who sought more alcohol after a night out and become a magnet for street drinkers who already loiter in the area which would increase a risk of crime and disorder.
Nick Mortimer, licensing manager said: “We are pleased that Brent’s Licensing Committee agreed with the evidence that had been submitted by police.
“We will continue to work with our partners across the borough to ensure premises are run correctly within the relevant legislation.”
