Kilburn Cosmos rugby team help primary school pupils tackle numbers

Rugby players swooped on a Kilburn school to help pupils get to grips with their sums.
The Kilburn Cosmos team spent a morning at Malorees Infant and Junior school, in Christchurch Avenue, teaching 450 children how to throw and catch a ball.
It was part of a sponsored two-minute “catch and count” game to help raise £5,000 for Mathletics, a programme aimed at facilitating maths for youngsters.
Aiden Quinn of Kilburn Cosmos RFC said: “We were delighted to help and encourage any children to come down to our super-friendly Sunday mornings in Gladstone Park.”
The school has raised £3,900 towards its goal of getting all the kids access to mathematical games and activities for the next three years.
Executive head Sian Davies said: “A huge thank you to the Cosmos and to all the parents and carers who have so kindly donated.”

Training for age seven and over resumes on Sundays from 10am to noon in Gladstone Park from September.
