Rugby players swooped on a Kilburn school to help pupils get to grips with their sums.
The Kilburn Cosmos team spent a morning at Malorees Infant and Junior school, in Christchurch Avenue, teaching 450 children how to throw and catch a ball.
It was part of a sponsored two-minute “catch and count” game to help raise £5,000 for Mathletics, a programme aimed at facilitating maths for youngsters.
Aiden Quinn of Kilburn Cosmos RFC said: “We were delighted to help and encourage any children to come down to our super-friendly Sunday mornings in Gladstone Park.”
The school has raised £3,900 towards its goal of getting all the kids access to mathematical games and activities for the next three years.
Executive head Sian Davies said: “A huge thank you to the Cosmos and to all the parents and carers who have so kindly donated.”
