The oldest singing group in Kensal Rise celebrated the end of a project with a care home in Wembley.
Bolder Voices, based in Mortimer Road, went to Kenbrook Care home in Forty Avenue and had a blast with three musicians.
The choir, whose ages range from 65 to 95 and known for their political songs, have been running weekly sessions with residents who chose what to discuss before singing about it.
Bob Karper and director Clair Chapwell wrote six original songs from the stories that were heard.
Ms Chapwell said: “Over the weeks, residents flourished as the stories of their lives were sung around the corridors.
“Unlike other projects in care homes, we don’t just drop in - we plan sessions that are much more interactive. We sing with residents, we write a song about things they enjoy which they learn.
“Before going into the homes, Bolder had professional training in role play and musical warm-up sessions and after six weeks the project ended with a sharing for family and friends.”
Mr Karper added: “What a great project, I can still feel the love.”
The Bolder Voices choir are always looking for new voices to join their highly social group.
