An animal charity in Kensal Green has a new slippery guest after a Royal Python snake was found freezing to death on the streets.
The baby reptile, which is less than a year ago, had been out in the cold for about a night before it was rescued and brought to The Mayhew Animal Home.
The snake has been named Ebenezer by workers at the sanctuary in Trenmar Gardens, and once it warms up it will go to a reptile rescue centre.
Gillian Notton, head of animal welfare at The Mayhew, said: ‘’It was lethargic and freezing, He was very cold but otherwise seems to be in good health If it had been left out another night it would have died or it would have been run over. We’ve put it in a warm place to get heated so it’s now thawing and chilling out beside the radiator.”
