The former Mayor of London and long time Cricklewood residents will read to children at the fund day this Saturday

Avid readers are set to come out in force to show their support for Cricklewood library at a read in and fun day this Saturday (26).

Former Mayor of London and Cricklewood resident Ken Livingstone, will be among the guests telling a few tall tales at the event, which takes place 10.30am until 2pm.

It is part of the campaign to stop controversial plans by Brent Council to close six of its libraries.

Mr Livingstone said: “I shall be dashing from my Saturday morning radio show to read to local children in support of the library. The proposed closure of libraries across the country is wrong.”
