A popular Irish Bar in Neasden has been ordered to sack its manager and install CCTV after Police caught staff hosting early morning “lock ins” for drinkers.

Brent Council licensing officers have slapped Greene’s Bar in Neasden Lane, with an order to remove their premises manager after police raised “serious concerns” over staff serving alcohol to customers during early morning “lock ins” which breached the pub’s licensed hours .

At a licensing meeting held this week, the pub’s owners were also told to install CCTV and ensure staff undertake training in alcohol sales and public safety or risk losing their licence.

The council’s alcohol and licensing committee did not impose any changes to the pub’s opening hours but ordered managers to clear the premises half an hour after ‘last orders’ at 11 pm Monday-Saturday and 10.30pm on a Sunday.

The pub’s Google entry currently states that it is open “24 hours”.

Police launched a review of the pub’s licence after officers investigating drunk and disorderly behaviour allegedly caught staff members ushering revellers in to the premises “before you are seen” during an early hours inspection.

A spokesman for Brent Council said: “After considering all of the evidence and submissions, the alcohol and entertainment licensing sub-committee decided that the individual responsible for overseeing Greene’s public house in Neasden be removed and a number of conditions be put in place as recommended by the police and public safety experts.”
