The inquest into the death of a pregnant mother-of-two who fell from a balcony in Queen’s Park has been adjourned until next April today.

Georgina Drinkwater, 30, plummeted to her death from a third floor balcony in Orpheus House, Harrow Road on February 23 last year.

She was believed to be six months pregnant when she fell, suffering massive head injuries.

Westminster Coroner Dr Fiona Wilcox was forced to adjourn the inquest today because witnesses – including one who had to miss an exam – had not received ‘full disclosure’ from the court.

Dr Wilcox said: “Interested parties have not received full disclosure that they should have received.

“I have no alternative but to adjourn to allow all the interested parties to have full disclosure to all the evidence.

“We are going to have a lot of evidence to consider and it needs to be considered properly.

“I sincerely apologise to those people who have been dragged here at short notice today.”

Miss Drinkwater, who had two girls aged eight and 11-months-old at the time of her death, had been to a friend’s birthday party on Sunday night.

A neighbour told police that she had heard cries for help at about 3am that morning.

A friend who asked not to be named said Miss Drinkwater, also known as Georgina China, had been trying to climb out of a window before she fell to her death.

Her children are now being looked after by members of her family.

The inquest, which will now take place on April 5 and 6, will hear evidence from eye witnesses, her friends, family and emergency service responders.

It will also look at Miss Drinkwater’s relationship with Thomas Welldon, who did not attend today’s hearing.
