The construction of hundreds of new homes in Alperton, Burnt Oak and Colindale moved one step closer as planning chiefs gave the go-ahead to two major developments.

Brent Council’s planning committee gave unanimous approval for developments which provide a combined total of 352 new homes across two different sites in Brent- 74 of which are affordable.

The applicants, will be required to provide over £5million in Community Infrastructure Levy between them, which will go towards infrastructure improvements as part of the agreement.

Cllr Margaret McLennan, lead member for regeneration and housing at the council said: “Our growth areas were identified because they are key to regenerating our borough. “New development in these areas will provide much needed new homes but we are also keen to stress that any new development should be attractive, make appropriate contributions to local infrastructure improvements and include as much affordable housing as possible.”
