A homeless charity in Cricklewood held a bumper Christmas dinner for clients, staff and visitors.

Staff from the West London Irish Society, which donated £8,500 to Ashford Place, were guests of honour at the charity’s annual Christmas lunch on December 13.

Volunteers from around Cricklewood lent a hand with decorating the dining room bringing a festive look to the tables with crackers and tinsel.

The annual event saw clients, many of whom are homeless, in poor mental or physical health, older people with memory problems and lonely pensioners, tuck into turkey and trimmings, with a vegetarian option available.

Entertainment was provided by pupils from St Agnes School in Cricklewood Lane who sang carols, and George Hart who played his accordion

Danny Mayer, ceo of Ashford Place, said: “Everyone had a great day with plenty to eat. We are in the business of supporting people to manage and with the generous cheque from the West London Irish Society and great volunteers we will continue to do that.
