2021 sadly hasn't had the greatest start, but the fact is, we got through 2020 and that gives us hope.

I know many constituents are concerned about family, jobs, schools, mental health and more. So, I would like to inform residents about the support that is available.

Brent Council lists a range of helplines for those struggling who need emergency help and support on its website: brent.gov.uk/your-community/coronavirus/emergency-support/

Alternatively, call Brent Council on 020 8937 1234 and they will direct you to the service you require.

Specifically for emergency food support, Brent Council can connect you to a local food bank via 020 8937 6792.

And as always, my office is available for those who need casework support. Please email dawnbutlermpoffice@parliament.uk or call
07593 625 787.

With schools closed, if you need help with internet access for remote education, schools can request free mobile data increases for families who don't have broadband at home and can't afford extra data.

Three, Smarty, Virgin Mobile, EE, Tesco Mobile and Sky Mobile are all taking part in the scheme. Find out more at gov.uk/guidance/get-help-with-technology-for-remote-education-during-coronavirus-covid-19

Lockdown may be bleak, but it buys us time to ensure that the virus does not spread while the vaccine is rolled out.

Regular testing is key, so I urge people to get tested. Brent has tested over 1,500 people in a week! It's so easy to get a Covid-19 test, just call 020 8937 4440.

Together, let's control the spread, save lives and keep Brent safe.
