Residents could win a £50 voucher if they help the council to decide next year’s budget by using its online budget simulator.

The £5,000 software allows residents to choose where £20million worth of cuts should be made for 2014/15.

The interactive tool shows people how their decisions would have an impact on council tax bills and the overall budget.

The council has pledge to consider the overall results as part of their budget-setting process in March.

The £20m worth of cuts is on top of £100m which are being carried out over four years.

Cllr Muhammed Butt, leader of Brent Council, said: “We are running this extensive budget consultation and want as many people as possible to take part.

“We are facing some really difficult choices and want to know what services are important to local people so we can make the best decisions about where to make savings.

“If you care about council services, the best way you can have a say is by completing the simulator.”
