The London North West Healthcare NHS Trust has been awarded university status by the Association of UK University Hospitals (AUKUH).

The trust, which covers Northwick Park, Ealing, and Central Middlesex hospitals, and community services in Brent and Harrow, has been recognised for it’s strong involvement in research and commitment to undergraduate teaching.

By partnering with Imperial College London, they promote discovery of emerging innovation and best practice healthcare.

Chief Executive of the Trust, Jacqueline Docherty DBE said: “Membership of the AUKUH and recognition as a University Hospital by our peers formally acknowledges the important role that we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of healthcare innovations to the public.” The trust can now add ‘University’ to its title as the 47th hospital to become a member.
