The public have been asked to avoid Northwick Park Hospital on Tuesday night while the move its new £21m Accident & Emergency (A&E) unit goes ahead.

London Ambulance Service will not transport patients to the hospital’s casualty unit from midnight on Tuesday 9 December until 4am on Wednesday 10 December while the four hour diversion of A&E services takes place.

Two teams of staff will be working during the move to ensure that patients in the existing unit receive treatment but those requiring treatment at this time are asked to consider alternative options until the new department opens at 4am.

Members of the public are asked to call NHS 111 in the first instance.

Staff are working with neighbouring NHS Trusts and London Ambulance Service to facilitate the move.
