A HARLESDEN singer has proved he has the X Factor by scooping a place in the finals of the hugely popular TV show.
John Adeyele used to have a day job working in a dementia care home, where he serenaded residents, before he appeared before the judges singing ‘You Are So Beautiful’ by Joe Cocker.
The bookies have rated the 30-year-old as a favourite at 18/1 to win as he battles it out in the over 28’s category which is mentored by Louis Walsh.
Mr Adeyele said: “It hasn’t sunk in yet, I’m still speechless! I was shaking so much when I was in there with Louis Walsh. I thought he was going to say no, as he was saying to me that I had a lot of work to do.
“I gave Louis the biggest hug I could find and just thanked him so much. I think I’ve got a good chance of winning, as long as I work hard.”
When he first performed Cheryl Cole said: “Something is really adorable about you. It’s so refreshing.”
Mr Adeyele was a member of the Royal Borough Kensington Chelsea Choir from 14 to 19 then again from 21 to 23 and describes himself as a ‘self-taught singer’.
He likes to spend time at the Notting Hill Arts club and Oh! Bar in Camden..
Mr Adeyele has already had a bite of celebrity culture appearing on GMTV and has worked with former X Factor contenders boyband JLS.
To vote for John Adeyele text into X Factor next Saturday or Sunday on ITV 1 or ITV 2.
