With the clocks going forward and the sun making more of an appearance a running club in Wembley Park is encouraging resident to get fit in time for summer.
Fitness trainer Rey Smart has teamed up with the Asics store at London Designer Outlet to set up the Asics Running Club which is based at community centre the Yellow Pavilion.
The club, whose clients include Cllr Muhammed Butt, leader of Brent Council, is open to anyone over the age of 20 with beginner and intermediate levels of fitness and meets every Monday between 6.30pm and 8pm.
Participants will enjoy a mix of running drills including upper body conditioning, core strength and leg training exercises.
Rey also puts the growing success of the club down to its social element. “We have our very own social secretary who organises socials at least once a month at London Designer Outlet. It really helps to build a community and bond between runners. It’s brilliant because it goes hand in hand with the training - people are more likely to get off the couch and train so they can see their friends.”
