Fire engines were called to the shop on Kilburn High Road at 3.30pm yesterday (Aug 8) which has flats above it.

Smoke was coming from a heating element at the front door of the shop on the ground floor. Crews assisted electrical engineers to isolate the power supply before leaving.

It was the third call out in a week. Fire crews dealt with a blaze that destroyed a bedsit on the first floor of a converted house in Esmond Road, Kilburn, on August 7.

Two people left the building before crews arrived at 10.50pm. The brigade and the police are investigating the fire.

More than 40 firefighters attended a blaze in Nicholl Road, Willesden on August 5 at 6.30am.

The whole of a derelict two storey house was destroyed and is now being investigated.

Station manager Mike Cotton, said: “Firefighters worked hard and prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.”
