Firefighters who were called to a blaze in Neasden this morning walked off the job to go on strike.
The crew were called to Kebab House in Neasden Lane, at 11.13 am – 47 minutes before they were due to take industrial action over changes to their pensions.
At noon, a contingency team, which includes contract staff, took over until the firefighters returned when their action ended at 2pm.
They are currently still at the eatery and traffic has been diverted as they carry out forensic work at the scene.
Fire Brigades Union members are staging twice daily strikes this week starting at noon for two hours and again for an hour at 10.59pm until Saturday.
They have previously already held a series walkouts over government plans to raise their retirement age from 55 to 60 and increase their pension contributions.
The government says they have been offered a fair package in return.
