Fire crews have been called to reports of a ‘service duct’ exploding on a street in Kensal Rise this afternoon.
The metal container, which contains cables and equipment that provides gas and electricity to households, is also believed to have emitted sparks beforehand on Chevening Road just before 12.30pm.
According to a spokeswoman for the London Fire Brigade the area has since been made safe.
Firefighters are still at the scene pending the arrival of gas and electricity engineers.
