A large fire at a recycling depot in Wembley has destroyed around 50 tonnes of rubbish.
Around 60 firefighters tackled the blaze at the building on Hannah Close off Great Central, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Hendon, Acton and surrounding fire stations and eight engines were called to the scene at 2.14am.
The fire was under control just before 7am but crews stayed at the scene for several hours after.
There were no injuries.
Station Manager Claiton Murray who attended the incident said: “Thankfully there were no injuries and because the location of the fire was on an industrial estate it wasn’t near enough to roads or housing for the smoke to cause any disruption.
Crews have worked hard to stop the fire spreading to other buildings.”
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
