The funeral details of an award-winning jazz musician from Harlesden who died last month at the age of 51 have been announced.
However the family and friends of Ronny Jordan, who grew up in Oldfield Road, face an agonising wait to find out how he died after an inconclusive post mortem result.
Mr Jordan’s body was found at his home several days after he had returned to the UK from touring in South Africa.
The post mortem did rule out foul play or injury and a more detailed autopsy report which should ascertain his cause of death will be available in around four months.
Mr Jordan is credited with being at the forefront of the acid jazz movement in the 1990s with his talents seeing him scooping the MOBO Best Jazz Act Award in 2000 and the Gibson Guitar Best Jazz Guitarist Award in 2001.
In a statement released by his family today they announced his funeral will take place at Ruach City Church, Gaumont State Theatre, in Kilburn High Road, on February 21 at 10.30am.
He will be laid to rest with his parents Anzel and Lorence Simpson at a private burial.
His family also thanked his fans, family and friends for the tributes and messages of support received following his death on January 13.
A number of musical events in memory of Mr Jordan will be held later this year.
