A former mayor is facing a six month suspension after she asked businesses for money to sponsor her charity and then spent the money on ball gowns.
Cllr Bertha Joseph, Kensal Green ward, has also been asked to pay �900 to charity after the standards committee of Brent Council met last night (Tuesday).
Cllr Joseph, who did not attend the meeting, was hit with the strongest possible sanction after she was found guilty of breaching the members' code of conduct on three occasions.
