Professional footballers gave some Queen’s Park primary pupils a surprise by joining in with their PE lesson.
Queen’s Park Ranger’s players Jake Bidwell, Faysal Bettache and Mickel Platt took time out of their gruelling training schedules to visit pupils at Wilberforce Primary School, in Beethoven Street, on November 15.
The trio taught the children some skills and helped to referee some friendly matches.
They were then quizzed about where they grew up, how they got involved in football and whether they get nervous playing in front of thousands of fans.
The players gave them advice about how to learn from their mistakes, pick themselves up from defeat and stay determined to improve every day, both on and off the pitch.
April, a Year 3 pupil, said: “It was brilliant because we were the only class who got to meet them. The players told us how they learn from their mistakes and we loved playing football with them.”
