Three students from a school in Wembley have proved they can make it to the top by conquering the world’s fourth highest mountain.
Younes Berrazouane, Mohammad Mansoor and Najeeb Jama, all 18, from Copland Community School in Cecil Avenue, took part in the journey of a lifetime to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
The trio took part in the mission aiming to ‘challenge and inspire’ young people after winning a competition organised by education charity the Transformation Trust.
Describing the mission as ‘a truly life changing experience’, Mr Jama added: “Sometimes you have to do something really hard or difficult to realise how small you are, but learn how potentially amazing you can be.”
Sam Draper, Head of English at Copland who accompanied the boys, said: “There are few moments in life when you can see a change in a human being for the good.
“This challenge has been amazingly difficult and allowed some wonderful young people to realise something inside themselves.”
At 20,000ft high Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Tanzania and Africa.
