If your child has a little accident, we , in our medical room will tend to your child's needs.

A library to read some interesting books and if we are on the playground and want to read, no worries, we have an outdoor library that is monitored by some of our children.

My experience at this school

This school will provide many wonderful experiences for your child, but first let me tell you about my experience...

On my first day of school in nursery I was petrified to leave my home for a new place I had never been to before, but the teachers and the children comforted me and made me feel welcome.

I was so grateful for new friends. It took some time to meet a new friend but they came up to me and asked me: "Would you like to play in the sand with me?" and our friendship has continued to this day. Your child will find buddies for life!

Facilities

At this school, like we mentioned before, there is a brand new building for KS1 (early years) to learn in, it has loads of classrooms for learning to continue even more.

When it's sunny your child can be educated outside in our outdoor classroom. There is also a pavilion which we go to on nice and sunny days as a treat in the afternoon!

Unforgettable trip

We go on unforgettable trips like to the science museum, floating classroom (boat) and even a residential trip that your child could stay overnight at! Your child has the opportunity to go on trips like these!

The Gordon Brown residential trip was for two and a half days, where we got to pet and feed animals in the refreshing countryside air! We got to learn how to make our beds and to take on more responsibilities and be more independent.

Curriculum opportunities

Your child will get wonderful curriculum opportunities to learn subjects like maths, art, English, science, history and many more educational subjects.

After-school enrichment clubs

This school has grand after-school clubs to fit any descriptions, if your child wants to be a chess grandmaster, send them to chess club. A drumming master, send them to African drumming.

If your child is more of an athletic individual, send them to multi-sports club. There are more clubs every term to have an opportunity to try something new and exciting.

Our journey from when we arrive to when we leave

Only the best independent individuals come to this school, and they leave even better. Here at O.L.O.L we don't just teach academically, we teach mentally, spiritually and emotionally, so your child is more confident with themselves.

When they leave this school in Year 6 they will have grown courage, independence and happiness. Would you NOW consider this school for your child? Like we said, this is the perfect school for you!

Welcome to Our Lady of Lourdes school, says Mesgana

It has been my privilege to be a pupil here since reception. My teachers are dedicated to teaching children and giving them the best education possible.

Our school's pupils demonstrate love for learning and show extreme respect for their teachers. Our vision is to make sure our pupils enjoy the school and learning, and they get the best education possible.

Early Years

Learning for our young pupils is amazing. They are given activities like, choosing time, where they have the option to pick out of a range of different activities.

They are introduced to numbers by counting and playing games, and learn more quickly and find it more enjoyable this way. We try our very best to ensure that your child gets the most interesting education possible.

When the pupils learn, they learn outdoors too! They have their own mud kitchen, reading corner, monkey bars and more. This makes them interact with other children, but also have their own choices both indoors and outdoors, which makes them independent.

We want to make sure our pupils are able to work on their own, which encourages them for the challenges ahead and their future education.

Fun learning

At Our Lady of Lourdes there are certain days called theme days. On these days, your child can dress up as whatever theme day it is. For example, during Careers Week, you dress up as your dream job.

On World Book Day, you dress up as your favourite character from a book. However, you can also dress up in the colours of the Italian flag on the day.

The Catholic life of our school

The Catholic life of our school is important because we always involve God in everything we do and are a welcoming community. We go to a church called Five Precious Wounds, we go there on special occasions like the day of Ascension.

We have Minni Vinnies that can write to sick and lonely people and can also visit them. We also always treat each other with kindness.

We show our kindness in many ways, one of which is Cafod. Every year, our school has each class raise money for something important for poor people in Africa. For example goats, honeycomb, bed protection and mosquito protection.

Forest School and more. This shows how much we care not just for ourselves but for other people too.

This is a wonderful school! I hope to see you soon! by Mesgana.
