It was the icing on the cake for pupils at a Kingsbury secondary school who were rewarded for writing a novel within five days.
Eight Year 10 pupils from Kingsbury High School, in Princes Avenue, saw their published book, Spies, Lies and Disguises, transformed into an iced cake with each of their names adorned on it.
The pupils were tasked to write a novel in just five days at the White Water Writer’s Camp last year.
After an intense week of brainstorming, storyboarding, writing and editing, they completed their work of fiction.
And headteacher Jeremy Waxman recently honoured them for their efforts with the cake as well as certificates and a gift-wrapped copy of the novel, which will be housed in the school library.
