Caolan Doyle will be playing for the London team at the Connacht football final
Irish eyes will be on a teacher at a primary school in Willesden who will be playing at the finals of a renowned Gaelic football match next week.
Caolan Doyle, who teaches at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Goodison Road, will be playing for the London team against Mayo at the Connacht football final.
Mr Doyle was visited by Irish broadcaster RTE on Tuesday where presenter Marty Morrissey conducted a radio and television interview with the year four teacher.
In the interview, Class 4D who are taught by Mr Doyle watched him talk about the excitement of playing in a football final.
He also detailed the training and commitment that has been given by all the London players and how he balances his participation in Gaelic football with his day job at the school which was graded ‘outstanding’ in an Ofsted inspection earlier this year.
Dawn Titus, school headmistress, said: “The whole school community is very proud and congratulates Mr Doyle and the London team on this great achievement.
