Junior school pupils in Dollis Hill are celebrating their eco credentials after successfully hanging on to their environment award.
Our Lady of Grace Catholic Junior School, in Dollis Hill Lane, has been told its Green Flag – the highest accolade for environmental excellence - has been renewed for another two years.
The school boasts a thriving Eco Committee who meet regularly to plan ways in which they can make the school more eco friendly.
Pupils and staff participate in “switch off fortnight”, “waste week” and food waste is recycled in a composter on site as well as other energy saving measures.
Steve McGrath, headteacher, said: “I am very proud of the eco team and its members, past and present, who have worked so hard to fulfil this vision. It is a terrific moment for the school which successfully builds on the first award. It is not always easy to keep the momentum going but we have managed it.”
