Parents living in Brent are being reminded to apply for a secondary school place for their child before the closing date at the end of the month.

Those looking to enrol their children, born between September 1 2003 and August 31 2004, in time for the next academic year have until October 31 to do so.

Parents can apply for up to six choices of secondary school and are encouraged to attend upcoming open days to find out what schools have to offer. They will find out which school their son or daughter has received an offer from on March 2, 2015.

Cllr Ruth Moher, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “Education is the starting block from which our young people can go on to have a successful life and career, so it is incredibly important that parents take a closer look at the opportunities that are available in our schools.’’
