Luck shone on a handful of pupils from two primary schools in Brent who were gifted tickets to a national atheletics championship.

Children from Kilburn Park Junior School, in Saltham Crescent and Kingsbury’ St. Robert Southwell RC Primary School, in Slough Lane were invited along with more than 2,500 other pupils from across the UK to the Müller Anniversary Games on July 21 and 22.

They were celebrating the progress they’ve made in getting active through play and sport during the past school year.

The games by British Athletics were held in partnership with Nike and Discovery Education, whose Active Kids Do Better programme provides resources to help teachers increase movement and play before, during and after school.

Running athelete Paula Radcliffe said: “I’m proud to be working with Nike to help inspire more kids to get active through the power of play and truly believe that this helps any child achieve their potential.”
